As a result of poverty, many children have no choice but to go to school hungry, and many of the poorest families in the United Kingdom have become reliant upon the compassionate assistance of their neighbors to put food on the table.  
 

According to the Social Metrics Commission,14 million people including 4.5 million children, are living in poverty in the UK.

UK Islamic Mission distributes food parcels to families in need in the UK, helping those who are in the most desperate circumstances. When you think of families living in poverty, the UK isn’t necessarily the first country that comes to mind, but this is a major crisis that is happening on our doorstep.
